Kids On A Mission has many events… from fundraisers to initiative get-togethers to Costa Rica team meetings. All events that connect with Kids On A Mission’s purpose and vision.
One type of event that I love is our Initiative Get-Togethers.
At these get-togethers, kids are able to come and hear more about the things that we are doing, learn new leadership skills, and join an initiative team in which they are most interested in. I think that these events are so much fun because we can get kids who haven’t heard much about KOAM before and give them an opportunity to be involved in the many things that we are doing. Not only do kids get to get plugged into an initiative group and start raising money for a project, but we also love to give kids leadership training. At every meeting, we have different workshops for kids so that they can learn leadership and communication skills to further their growth as a leader… I think that this is so valuable because you can truly see the growth from these times that we spend in workshops.
