Kids On A Mission’s backpack initiative has been doing BIG things this summer!

On August 11th, KOAM had the privilege of partnering with a Church located in Kerman, California for a big Back to School event!  Our kids raised enough money to bless this Church with 100 backpacks filled with school supplies for this event and we were even involved in helping them pass them out! We had 12 KOAM people there serving in different areas, whether that be helping make nachos, giving kids snow cones or playing with the kids! Our team loves being able to serve in the community, especially when we get to pass out backpacks to kids who don’t have one, so this was an incredible opportunity for us.

Kids On A Mission also partnered with Clovis Hills Community Church as their 4th, 5th, and 6th graders were wanting to bless New City Church in Downtown Fresno with 150 backpacks. The kids at Clovis Hills did two big fundraisers, a yard sale and a fundraiser at Chosen Yogurt to raise money for these backpacks with school supplies. They brought in enough money for 150 backpacks for this project and packed all of the school supplies into the backpacks!  On August 25th, 3 of us on staff were able to go to the outreach and watch as the Clovis Hills kids were passing out backpacks to the kids who didn’t have one for this school year.

As a member of the staff team, it is SO impactful to see kids who are such amazing leaders who are only in 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade helping others! The joy in the kids faces as they receive a new backpack that they wouldn’t have gotten otherwise is so special and is definitely something that you don’t forget.  Being able to be apart of such incredible events where we have the opportunity to pass out backpacks to kids who wouldn’t have otherwise gotten one is so wonderful and such a great experience for our KOAM members to be involved in.
