Sometimes it looks like God is calling us to do something a little crazy. Maybe it’s talking to the new kid at school, joining a new club, a new sport, or even going to a different country. What should we do?
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Throughout the Bible, God calls a shepherd boy to fight a giant, an elderly woman to believe that she can still have a child, and a fisherman to walk on water. These individuals do not possess magic powers or super abilities. What sets them apart is their willingness to trust that when God calls them to do “crazy” things, He will make their paths straight.
God is more powerful than our excuses and our own understanding. If we believe this to be true, how does our life reflect this “crazy” faith? As leaders, young people on mission, we must be willing to submit our ways to God even when it doesn’t all make sense. We have blind spots as humans… we can’t see our lives and the world with full perspective like God can. So we must trust that when God puts something on our hearts that is outside of our comfort zones, He has a purpose, and He will faithfully guide us through.
