Just because you weren’t a leader in your past, doesn’t mean you can’t be one now. Also, learning from past leadership mistakes can help us prepare to be better leaders.
I know that for me personally, I have had to learn how to be a good leader, one that people want to follow, one that puts others before herself and one that ultimately puts Jesus at the center of it all. BUT! It’s not like I woke up one day and it all suddenly came to me…honestly, I’m still working on all of those things. I have been a part of Kids On A Mission since I was 8 years old, so it has been 10 years now of me learning, growing and stepping VERY far outside of my comfort zone. Over the years I have learned a lot, and the choices and decisions that I made then are now affecting how I lead now.
I know that I have made a lot of leadership mistakes over the years and have had to work to learn from the choices that I made, whether those be the little things or big choices.
SO! Moral of the story, YOU can lead now. Whether you were a leader in your past or maybe you weren’t, you have the ability to change so many people’s lives and make a difference right now! Once you start leading, the hard truth is that you will make mistakes and stumble through certain situations, but just know that those things will make you stronger and help you lead in a way that you would never expect. God has the power to use you in amazing ways, you just have to let Him take you… and sometimes that will be very far outside of your comfort zone.
