Wow. Today was our first day in Costa Rica! After a sleepless night of traveling, our team arrived to San Jose Costa Rica. From there, we took a three hour bus ride to Boca de Arenal.
Just after we made it to Susan’s house (our temporary home), we had just enough time to unpack, organize the VBS supplies, and grab a bite to eat before passing out invitations to the community surrounding the first VBS site.
It could have been very easy for our team to have fixated on their physical need of rest; however, we knew it was imperative that our hearts were that of Psalm 84:5a. “Blessed are those whose strength is in you…” Relying on God to strengthen us was crucial while doing His work in the community.
After hearing the devotion after dinner, based on this scripture, we felt encouraged to carry out Gods mission for the rest of this week. I’m so excited to see what God has in store!
