Costa Rican FIESTA!
On Sunday, October 1st, our Costa Rica team held a fundraising dinner for all of our friends and family to explain what we will be doing on our trip and the incredible things that God did last year while in Costa Rica. It was AMAZING!
Over 125 people were at this dinner and were able to hear the heart of our team as we shared with them the power of missions trips and the positive impact that they have had on our lives. We had incredible Costa Rican food catered and an amazing tropical set up that made us all feel like we were actually there.
During our program, we had 11 members from our team last year up on the stage running the show. All of them were sharing their testimony from last year and inspiring everyone there how amazing this trip was. We played a video from last year, showing everyone the things that we did and the people we met that changed our lives. It was beautiful and a total tear-jerker. We closed off the night with saying a final prayer and one of our Board members, Brad Holck, praying over our entire team traveling this year.
As we made our final ask, sharing with others the opportunity that they had to bless our team financially and by praying with us, we also asked them to write an encouraging note for our team to read as we prepare for this trip and while we are there. We received about 100 encouraging notes at the end of this dinner and were blown away by the response.
The following day, the Kids On A Mission staff team began opening envelopes and counting to see how much our team had raised during this wonderful evening and we were shocked. $7,336 came in from this evening to bless our team and help us cover our costs for this trip. We are all so incredibly thankful, I cannot even begin to express it in words.
So for those of you who have supported us, financially, through prayer, or even writing our team an encouraging note, THANK YOU. We appreciate you so much and are incredibly thankful for you. This event was a huge success and we couldn’t have done it without the help of so many people.
Much love!
